17 februari 2022: Workshop: Data-driven Logistics in practice

The possibilities of data in designing efficient and sustainable supply chains with Argusi and Optiply
On February 17th, 2022, the companies Optiply and Argusi will share their knowledge and experiences regarding data-driven logistics in practice.
• Via Optiply you will learn about the possibilities of data-driven forecasting, purchasing and stock management.
• Through Argusi you get acquainted with the possibilities of Supply Chain analytics and play the Network game that Argusi has developed.

This workshop is organised together with Jong Logistiek Nederland. We want to share experiences and products from the DALI – project with students and young professionals in Logistics & Supply Chain.

Optiply: building a sustainable supply chain
Factors influencing purchasing and inventory decisions are becoming increasingly dynamic and complex. In terms of quantity and complexity, the available data can no longer be processed and analysed by the human brain. Optiply has developed an application for data-driven forecasting & decision making for replenishment. This tool helps companies to set up the supply chain. During this meeting you will gain insight into increasing complexity in making purchasing and inventory decisions, what data and data quality a company needs for data-driven forecasting & decision making and how this leads to a more efficient and sustainable supply chain.

Argusi: The Network Design Game
Due to globalization, development of new markets, mergers, acquisitions, new suppliers and customers, the performance of a network is under constant pressure. One of the most strategic company’s decision concerns the network structure. Where are production facilities, warehouses and distribution centres located, how and from where are customers served and at what service levels? In the Network Design Game participants have to design and optimize a supply chain network of a consumer goods company in teams of 3 persons. The purpose of the Network Design Game is to:
• Learn and experience how to model and evaluate a supply chain network.
• Experience the supply chain network trade-offs such as costs versus service and transportation versus location costs.
• Design and evaluate different scenarios in several rounds.
• And at the end, we have ONE WINNER: the team who designs the most efficient network.
